About Gary Burge
I am a graying web programmer, techno-activist, romantic idealist, who never quite left the sixties, even though I became quite successful in the Internet space.
My business philosphy is different now than when I toiled in the bigco world. About a decade ago I experienced a life-altering epiphany: I was sacrificing my personal life and health to feed a corporate monster.

Delicious 2.0 looks…well, delicious
The social bookmarking site del.icio.us is getting a facelift and will be renamed Delicious — a name you don’t have to Google first in order to remember the URL.
Joshua Schachter, founder of Delicious, tells Techcrunch’s Michael Arrington that Delicious 2.0 is a complete rewrite to improve server efficiency and system maintainability. New features will be easier to implement than the current del.icio.us, he says.
Execution efficiency will be welcomed by dedicated users of the social bookmarking service. I have some 2800 bookmarks and searching among them seems to work more slowly each week.
For now, the Version 2.0 is in a private beta, but Arrington has posted screenshots of the main pages.
